David Melling

David picture books have been nominated for many awards. His first book was shortlisted for the Smarties Prize and The Kiss that Missed was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway. David took an Art Foundation course at Richmond College, and studied Photography at Blackpool and Fylde College. He is married and lives with his wife and two children in Oxfordshire. Before creating picture books, David worked as a photographer and as an animation artist for films including the much-loved Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs.
